Fare Thee Well, CNY
Well, 15 days of debauchery and merry making is finally over. Thank goodness CNY only comes once a year. Not only do people have to suffer the indignation of critical and nosy relatives, but one also has to put up with the misery of gaining a thousand pounds. Sigh, the non-stop eating was fun, but seriously, enough is enough. Time to go back to celery and carrot sticks. (haha, yeah rite!)

So what kind of mischief did I get into this year? Of course the lovely celebration began with the customary yearly trip to the grandma's house. Yes, I only see my grandma (and aunt, uncle, cousin) ONCE a year. Cos me mum and grandma have been feuding forever. To quote the mum, "If your dad didn't force me we could be playing mah jong now!" Sad to say, mah jong ranks higher than me grandma in my mum's books. Anyway, it was interesting to see the folks again, to be silently scrutinized from everyone angle by my bitter, single aunt. To be not- so-silently chastised for coming only once a year. To bite my tongue as my two elder sisters were admonished for still being single and of course, to hear my mum declare loudly (to no one in particular) that she wanted to go home after 1 hour. My poor dad, forever caught in the middle.

We then went home for some very pleasant mah jong, and I won $40!!! Haha, red underwear totally rocks!

Who else did I visit? Being so anti-social, no one else. Ok, not entirely true cos I paid my annual pilgrimage to my secondary school teacher's house. Poor Mr Sim, every we congregate at his house under the pretense of visiting, but it's really more about the class meeting up and making a lot of noise.

Me and the girls! (Jing Yi was rocking out at Chingay... damn, I look sickly)

That hiao zha bo is Ms Big-Boobs Glory. Look how her cup spilleth over onto my poor arm.

My secondary school tormentor. Amazing that we're quite good friends now. He hated that I was English-bred and couldn't speak good Chinese. He ganged the boys up against me, called me names, played horrendous pranks and basically made my life miserable. Sheesh.

We went K-ing after the very short visit. Every year we turn up later and later, and our fave activity is to bitch about everyone else. Sigh, KB till the end.

Yes, the very cool Chong Pei Won getting comfy as she belts out Jay Chou. We sang for 6 freaking hours can...

What else happened this holiday? Oh yeah, my illustrous sister turned 26. Lol, on the wrong side of 20... We went to Billy Bombers to eat a 1000 calories dinner (really, I'm not shitting you!)

Cheryl! Hah, you think I'm fair! Look at that!

The goo-iest cheese fries ever... Slurp!

The pretty decent food was severely marred by the most incompetent service I've had for a long, long time. The waiters were sloven, looked like Ah Lians, didn't seem to understand English, and had to be called 3 times before responding, and even then, got the request all wrong. Bah, Cheryl ripped into one waitress and although I felt a twinge of guilt at seeing her receive a dressing down, it was nonetheless, a long time coming.

Fast-forward to the last day of CNY... we just had to celebrate in style, ya know?

Went to the revolving restaurant at Keppel Road. This super Chinese place (Prima Tower) that's tucked away near the PSA and overlooks PSA and Sentosa. Great view. The revolving concept was quite nauseating at first... you keep having the sensation that you are going to fall.. but the view was fantastic! The way the sunlight hit the water made it sparkle and you could almost believe that you were in the Carribbean or something..

Sentosa!

Long live Dim Sum!

Hamming it up for the camera

The fabulous me and my old sister... haha!

Happy CNY people! Can't wait for the next holiday!
